Who can write?

Everyone can write on the India Way. Use this submission link and upload your piece.

What can I submit?

(Almost) Anything: Send us an article, essay, opinion piece, or photo essay. We currently do not accept fiction. Hence, barring that, send us anything and everything and our editorial team will get back to you ASAP.

All submissions must be thematically connected to international affairs, and specifically, India's foreign policy. Explore the following in whatever theme you choose: 'How does this connect to India, and why should young Indians care?'

Editorial Process & Suggestions

Our editorial team reviews every piece of content that goes up on the India Way. If your piece does not make it, we’ll let you know. We're looking for fact-based, strongly argued pieces that make readers think. There's already so much being written on India's foreign policy actions, and we hope to publish unique, persuasive voices.

So here's what we suggest:
  • Research well. Find out themes that genuinely interest you, and that aren't mainstream/widely covered.
  • If the theme is mainstream, do you perhaps have something interesting to say? If yes, we'll love to read it.
  • Write clearly, without fluff. The best submissions are those that an average Indian can understand. Explain well and use simple language.
If your writing is strong and fits well, we will work with you on it!

Editorial Policy

The India Way does not take editorial positions. All views published by us are those of the authors alone. Opinions expressed by individual editorial staff members do not necessarily reflect the views of other editors or of the India Way or IFPP itself.

Authors are nonetheless encouraged to pitch and submit opinion pieces to us to express their views on matters of world politics.

Citations & Plagiarism

The India Way maintains a zero tolerance policy for plagiarism. All submitted work is run through online plagiarism checks to identify copied or plagiarized writing. Plagiarism is grounds for immediate rejection, discontinuation of editing, or removal from the this website. Authors are advised to run their work through plagiarism detection software before submitting it.

We do not accept articles that have been submitted to, or published in, other publications.

All pieces must be properly cited through hyperlinks or a bibiliography. Citations are the authors responsibility. Editors will work with the authors to identify areas where minor additional citations are needed, though poorly cited writing will not be accepted.
